More than 100 ASEAN countries’ diplomats in China and government officials and businesspeople from East China’s Anhui province gathered in Hefei, capital of the province, on Wednesday to seek business cooperation.
On that day, a trade and investment promotion meeting was jointly held by the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and the Department of Commerce of Anhui Province.
With the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative, Anhui and the ASEAN region have strengthened communication, increased personnel exchanges and had fruitful business cooperation over the past few years. The region has emerged as a major trade and investment partner of Anhui.
In 2018, the province set up 32 companies in the ASEAN region with a total investment of US$140 million. Meanwhile, ten ASEAN countries injected US$620 million into 17 new companies in Anhui.
As an international organization established by the government of China and the governments of the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN), the ASEAN-China Centre is committed to implementing important consensus reached by leaders from the two sides, and fostering more pragmatic cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, information and media.
