5 Zones in Anhui among China's Top 100

Five development zones in East China’s Anhui province have been ranked among the nation’s 100 most competitive industrial parks, according to a white paper released by China Center for Information Industry and Development (CCID), a research institution under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Hefei Hi-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, capital of the province, took the 5th place, and Hefei Economic and Technological Development Zone was ranked 9th.

Wuhu Hi-Tech Industry Development Zone and Wuhu Economic and Technological Zone, both located in Wuhu city, were ranked 35th and 64th, respectively.

In addition, Bengbu Hi-Tech Industry Development Zone in the city of Bengbu claimed the 95th spot.

A total of 375 national economic and technological zones and hi-tech industry development zones were rated from these five aspects - economic development, innovation capability, business environment, ecological environment and location and transportation.

Anhui was ranked 5th by number of zones on the list, following Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Shandong. Jiangsu province is home to 26 top 100 zones, Zhejiang to 15 ones and Guangdong to 9 ones.
