Travel agencies in Anhui have been given permission to resume group tours that cross provincial borders, following a period of suspension due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province said in a circular on July 21.

However, overseas group tours are still banned.

The limit on the number of visitors allowed in tourist attractions will be set at 50 percent of the maximum capacity, according to the circular, an increase on the previous limit of 30 percent.

Tourist attractions should improve cleaning and disinfection measures, and prevent visitors gathering in groups, said the circular.

The circular required travel agencies to stop the tour activities of the group and report it as soon as possible once they find any suspected symptoms.

Southern Anhui and Dabie mountain areas should carry out an in-depth investigation of hidden dangers in tourist attractions, and provide sufficient measures for flood and geological disaster prevention, according to the circular.
