Deng Xiangyang, executive vice governor of East China’s Anhui province, led a delegation to the UK, Germany and France from May 30 to June 8.

At promotional events in London and Berlin, Deng invited well-known manufacturers and famous experts and scholars to the upcoming World Manufacturing Convention, slated to be held in Hefei, capital of the province, in September.

While visiting the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the UK, the Juelich Research Center in Germany, the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems in Germany, and the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor in France, Deng introduced the development of the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, hoping they could enter into partnership for more achievements in scientific and technological innovation.

Deng also met Christian Wulff, chairman of the Global Alliance of SMEs, and representatives of Derbyshire and Derby in the UK.

In addition, Deng visited Volkswagen AG’s headquarter in Wolfsburg, Germany.
