The fifth China Auto Camping Assembly, which is expected to be the country's largest ever event for the camping and caravan manufacturing industry, will be held from Nov 2 to 5 in Wuhu, a city in East China's Anhui province.
The four-day event will include exhibitions, forums, investment signing ceremonies, sports games and tourism activities, its organizers told a news conference in Wuhu on Thursday morning.
More than 200 caravan manufacturers and more than 30 self-driving travel clubs from across the country will participate in the event, with more than 150 new caravan models on show.
The main venue for the assembly will be a campsite in Wuhu.
Zhou Biren, general manager of Wuhu-based Chery Holding Group, which owns Chery Automobile, said the company's leading role in China's auto camping and caravan manufacturing industry was one reason the assembly was being held in Wuhu.
Tuju Campsite Investment and Management, a subsidiary of Chery Holding, operates 46 campsites across the country — 39 of which are owned by other investors.
Chery, China's largest exporter of passenger vehicles, established a joint venture in Wuhu last year with REV Group, a specialty vehicle manufacturer from the United States, to build the country's largest manufacturing hub for caravans in the city.
This year's event will be held jointly by the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China, which is under the General Administration of Sport of China, the Anhui provincial Administration of Sport, Anhui Tourism Development Commission and the Wuhu city government.
