Anhui Vocational and Technical College became the first vocational college in East China’s Anhui province to welcome overseas students.
Earlier this year, the school launched a program to attract Cambodian students, as part of its effort to respond to the nation’s Belt and Road Initiative.
Under the program, the college enrolls Cambodian students funded by the Overseas Chinese Charity Foundation of China.
The program will be carried out for three years. Each year, there will be around 100 students from Cambodia to the college, located in the provincial capital Hefei.
The first Cambodian students arrived at the school the other day. They will take courses in electric automation technology for 18 months starting in September and work as interns for another 18 months.
