16 cities in East China’s Anhui province held a ceremony on Thursday to mark the integration of national and local taxation offices, a significant move in the nation’s taxation system reform.
It came after the integration at the provincial level on June 15 as the Anhui Provincial Tax Service, State Administration of Taxation opened.
Under the State Council’s institutional restructuring plan, the integrated offices are responsible for collection of all items of taxes and non-tax revenue collection and administration.
The integration allows taxpayers to visit a single facility or only one website to enjoy all taxation-related services.
Counties of the province are slated to complete integrating their national and local taxation offices by the end of July.
China’s taxation system reform is key to the modernization of governance system and capacity. It helps reinforce the public’s and taxpayers’ sense of gain, and promote high-quality economic development.
