Ten provincial regions - Jiangsu, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong, Hubei, Fujian, Henan and Hainan - were ranked as top investors in Anhui during the Jan-May period, injecting a total of 392.58 billion yuan ($59.09 billion) into the eastern Chinese province, according to the local economic regulator.
With an investment of 61.84 billion yuan, Guangdong has climbed to the second notch for the first time since 2017, said the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
In May alone, the southern Chinese province invested in three Anhui-based projects each worth over 1 billion yuan.
Meanwhile, investment by the neighbouring Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang rebounded. They launched 1,725 projects each worth more than 100 million yuan in the province. Capital in place stood at 193.07 billion yuan, up 9.1 percent year on year. The growth was much higher than April’s 5.3 percent.
