The commercial regulator of East China’s Anhui province released a list of eight special high streets, including three in Hefei, the provincial capital.
Qiguitang High Street, Qingxi Town and Lujiang Middle Town Pedestrian Street made the cut, according to the Bureau of Commerce.
Established in the 1980s, Qiguitang is one of the busiest shopping streets in downtown Hefei with numerous shops, bars, clubs and hotels.
Adjacent to Hefei Botanical Garden, Qingxi Town features flower, bird, fish and insect market, courtyard landscape and an amusement park for families.
Middle Town Pedestrian Street in Lujiang county enjoys a history of over 100 years. It is emerging as a cultural block and a tourist destination.
In addition, five places in Bengbu, Lu’an, Wuhu and Anqing cities made the list, namely, Bengbu Antique and Jade Cultural Street, Lu’an Lanxi High Street, Wuhu Snack Street, Wuhu Jiuzi Ancient Town Street and Anqing Swan Square Catering Street.
38 streets in the province have been named “special high streets” by the bureau.
