Anhui's foreign trade volume rose 22.1 percent year on year to 163.74 billion yuan ($25.20 billion) in the first five months of 2018, higher than the national average of 8.8 percent.
The province's exports increased 14.6 percent to reach 88.47 billion yuan, while imports surged 32.3 percent to hit 75.27 billion yuan.
Growth rates have been faster than the national averages for 15 consecutive months since March, 2017.
Anhui ranked 13th in the country and 2nd in Central China region in terms of imports and exports from January to May.
Hi-tech exports stood at 24.46 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year rise of 45 percent. They made up 27.6 percent of the province's total exports during the same period.
Machine imports skyrocketed 91.9 percent to 16.86 billion yuan, or 22.4 percent of the provincial total.
Foreign trade with the European Union, the United States and Japan reached 24.54 billion yuan, 22.98 billion yuan and 14.01 billion yuan, up 22.4 percent, 21.7 percent and 40.1 percent year on year, respectively.
