Up to 562.08 billion yuan ($87.85 billion), or 45.9 percent of the annually planned total, were invested in Anhui’s major projects during the first five months of 2018, said the provincial economic watchdog.
1,430 projects kicked off, accounting for 56.9 percent of the planned total, while 96 ones, or 7.6 percent of the total, were completed from January to May, according to the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
In May alone, the eastern Chinese province poured 156.64 billion yuan into major projects, accounting for 12.8 percent of the planned total for the whole year. The month saw the start of 341 projects and the end of 52 ones.
The province will step up efforts to fulfil the annual target, the commission said.
