The World Manufacturing Convention 2018 and the Anhui Investment and Trade Expo 2018 are slated to kick off together on May 25 in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province.
Preparations for the event are well underway, said a spokesperson at the second press briefing held by the organizers on Monday.
Up to 4,096 people have been confirmed as participants, including 20 foreign former political leaders and heads of international organizations, 8 Chinese officials at the ministry level, 7 at the provincial level and heads of 58 overseas companies listed on the Fortune Global 500 as well as 50 domestic ones.
Big names include Christian Wulff, former president of Germany and chairman of the Global Alliance of SMEs, Ban Ki-moon, former secretary-general of the United Nations.
The summit is expected to attract 978 foreigners from 75 countries and regions, or almost 25 percent of the total participants. Among them are 7 ambassadors to China and 12 heads of well-known overseas business organizations.
The event will feature 19 activities including an opening ceremony, a keynote forum and 8 seminars.
The state-of-the-art holographic technology and virtual intelligent robots will be used at the opening ceremony to make sure intelligent interaction combine virtuality and reality.
The keynote forum will bring together big names in manufacturing and relevant industries who will share the latest ideas about the development of advanced manufacturing, explore the future of global manufacturing and envision broad prospects of the worldwide new industrial revolution.
In addition, scientists, experts and entrepreneurs from home and abroad will attend 8 seminars covering intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, the integrated circuit industry, and home automation ,etc.
There will be a comprehensive pavilion and five other ones at the expo each showcasing international intelligent products, domestic intelligent products, Anhui’s imports and exports, financial services and Anhui’s human resources.
