East China's Anhui province promoted its Speech Valley program at the Second World Intelligence Congress in North China’s Tianjin on Wednesday, wooing investors who are interested in sharing the province’s development opportunities.
Speaking at the meeting, vice governor He Shushan said local authorities highlight the artificial intelligence (AI) industry and make the development of intelligent economy a strategy.
China Speech Valley was launched in 2013 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Anhui government. With increasingly sounder policy systems, better environment for development and more obvious agglomeration effects, it provides favorable opportunities for elites interested in intelligent speech recognition and AI, He noted.
The province will step up efforts to make plans, increase policy support, improve business environment, deepen opening up and cooperation, and work together with investors from home and abroad to develop the Speech Valley into a world-level AI industrial hub, the official added.
He inspected the China Speech Valley pavilion and the iFlytek pavilion at the event earlier that day.
Zhang Jinying, a senior leader of Tianjin, said the municipality and Anhui have not only historical ties, but also solid foundation for AI and intelligent manufacturing and great potential for cooperation. He expected the two sides to expand areas of partnership and jointly push the healthy development of the AI industry.
