A robotics team from Hefei No.1 High School, 7884D, representing China, took the third place in the final match of the 2018 VEX Robotics World Championship, dubbed the Robotic Olympics.
The event, held from April 24 to May 1 in Louisville in the United States, brought together 1,648 top robotics teams from 46 countries.
Located in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province, the school was qualified for the world event after having won three consecutive championships at the China Adolescent Robotics Competition launched by the China Association for Science and Technology.
The school sent three teams to the Kentucky city, claiming two golds at division competitions and a bronze at the final.
At last year’s event, the Hefei No.1 High School robotics teams won five cups including two golds at division competitions and a silver at the final.
