The departure ceremony for eight hundred Ankai high-end buses exported to Saudi Arabia was held in Hefei on the morning of April 10. After the ceremony, the buses were bound for Lianyungang where they would be loaded on the ship heading to Saudi Arabia along the “Maritime Silk Road”. The deal is the biggest export order of Chinese high-end buses so far in 2018 since Anhui Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd. exported 600 model A9 buses to Saudi Arabia in 2017.
Anhui Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd. is the largest automaker producing full load buses in China. As early as in 2007, Ankai began to explore Saudi Arabia market. In 2011, the company exported 3,000 school buses to the country. It was the largest export order of buses from China at that time.
Last year, 600 model A9 high-end buses made by Ankai were delivered to Hafil Transport Company L.L.C. in Saudi Arabia. It became a pioneering act to export large amounts of high-end buses. This year, Hafil Transport Company L.L.C. signed a sales contract with Ankai again to purchase 800 buses including those in model A9. So far, Ankai has fully entered high-end passenger transport market of Saudi Arabia.
In addition to Saudi Arabia, Ankai buses have been also exported to other countries along the Belt and Road. Since 2017, Ankai has successively won bulk orders from Myanmar for 500 buses, Saudi Arabia for 600 buses and Kazakhstan for 70 buses. Furthermore, the company has broken the monopoly and entered the markets of Mexico and Ghana for the first time.
At present, Ankai buses have been exported to more than 80 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, Australia, the UAE, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa. The company has established a global marketing network and obtained some highest-grade product certifications in the world such as ADR, GCC, DOT, e/E-mark and GOST.
