Li Jinbin, Party chief of East China’s Anhui province, met with a delegation of German Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in the provincial capital Hefei Wednesday, voicing his hope of deeper cooperation with the European country.
The province has conducted frequent exchanges and trade cooperation with Germany over the past few years, Li said, after extending welcome to the Germans and informing them of the profile of Anhui and its efforts into poverty relief and grass-root party building.
As China is opening wider and wider in this new era, the province will implement the spirit of the keynote speech made by President Xi jinping at this year’s Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference, timely respond to today’s imperatives and stick to opening up and win-win development, said the leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Anhui Provincial Committee.
Anhui will deepen pragmatic cooperation with Germany in areas like equipment manufacturing, culture, tourism, and science and technology, in a bid to bring benefit to local people, Li noted.
Germany is known worldwide for its well-developed agriculture and industry, Li said.
The 2018 World Manufacturing Convention and the 2018 Anhui Investment & Trade Expo are slated to be held together in Hefei in May. Li hoped the delegation could act as a go-between to bring more German enterprises to that expo.
Manfred Grund, a politician of the CDU and head of the delegation, congratulated the province on its great economic and social achievements. He pledged to push forward partnership between the two sides.
The CDU is a major political party of Germany. Its leader Angela Merkel is the current Chancellor of Germany.
Tao Minglun and Yan Zhichan, members of the Standing Committee of the CPC Anhui Provincial Committee, attended the gathering.
