A new train route for the Fuxing bullet train will expand into the Yangtze River Delta region starting April 10, according to China Railway Shanghai Group.
The new line will cover Shanghai Railway Station, Hangzhou East Railway Station and Hefei South Railway Station to Beijing South Railway Station. It also meets the demands of the local freight market.
The new operation further shortens the time from the Yangtze River Delta region to Beijing. The total number of operations increased from 45 to 86, which accounts for 37.5 percent of all daily railway operations in China.
It will only take 4 hours and 18 minutes from Shanghai to Beijing, which is 10 minutes faster than before. Meanwhile, it will take 36 minutes, 25 minutes and 8 minutes less than before when running from Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang Province, Hefei in East China's Anhui Province and Nanjing in East China's Jiangsu Province to Beijing.
