China's top political advisor Wang Yang has called on the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to keep up with the new era, develop and innovate, and do its work with solid effort.
As socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, the CPPCC now faces higher requirements, Wang, chairman of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, said during his visit to Shanghai.
Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, stressed the importance of studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress in CPPCC work.
The CPPCC must stay problem-oriented, carefully study the new situation, solve new problems, and provide more targeted and timely advice, said Wang.
Wang has also listened and reviewed work reports from local CPPCC committees in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces.
