A four-member delegation from South Korea led by Lee Jeong Shin, head of Invest in Gwangju Office, visited Wuhu, a major city of east China's Anhui province, from February 27 to March 2, seeking cooperation in areas like the new enery industry, according to the city's foreign affairs office.
During the stay in Wuhu, the delegation visited auto and auto part manufacturers such as Chery Commercial Vehicle Company, Lear Corporation, CITC-RH, Anhui Zhongwang Company, and Wuhu ETC Battery Limited.
The delegation had discussions at symposiums with leaders of Wuhu Hi-tech Zone and Wuhu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office on potential cooperation in the areas of the new energy industry, tourism, optoelectronics and dental plastic surgery.
As one of the six major metropolitan areas in South Korea, Gwangu covers an area of 501 square kilometers and has a population of 1.49 million. In 2016, the GDP of Gwangju reached 25 trillion won (about 150 billion yuan).
