723 people from 16 cities and the local People's Liberation Army (PLA) garrison have been elected as deputies to the 13th Anhui Provincial People's Congress, the top legislature of the eastern Chinese province.
Workers, farmers and technicians make up 10.1 percent, 13.4 percent and 21.6 percent of the deputies, respectively.
Among the 723 deputies are 264 members of non-Communist parties, 225 women and 37 members of ethnic minorities.
216 deputies, or 30.0 percent of the total, were successfully re-elected.
The 13th Anhui Provincial People's Congress is slated to convene in Hefei, capital of the province, on Jan 22.
