Bengbu-based BBCA Group signed an agreement with Glactic Company located in Belgium on a PLA (polylactic acid) cooperation project featuring a designed annual production capacity of 100,000 tons on January 12. Bengbu Mayor Wang Cheng, leaders of BBCA Group and GlacticCompany attended the signing ceremony.
The cooperation project signed between BBCA Group and Glactic Company is a production project with an investment of 100 million US dollars for an annual production of 100,000-tonpolylactic acid. The production facility of the project will be constructed in Guzhen EconomicDevelopment Zone. As a bio-based polymer material, PLA has attracted domestic and international attention thanks to its low carbon, green, safe and wide application characteristics.
According to BBCA’s PLA development expectation, with the opening of the market for PLA new bio-material, the project will benefit downstream industry of PLA and drive thedevelopment of new textile and new plastics processing industries. The overall industrial output value will exceed 100 billion yuan.
The project will mainly produce fiber grade, film grade and injection modeling grade PLA products. It is expected that the annual sales revenue will reach 3 billion yuan, with a profit of 500 million yuan and an export income of 50 million US dollars.
