One of China's major car markers is partnering with two companies based in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province, to better explore new technology.
Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., known as BAIC Group, signed agreements with the municipal government of Chaohu, iFlytek Co. and a Chaohu subsidiary of Nanjing Yunhai Special Metals Co. yesterday.
Under the agreement with iFlytek Co., the two sides will work together in areas like automotive AI and voice interaction. Based in Hefei, iFlytek is China’s biggest voice recognition company by market share.
In addition, BAIC Group will cooperate with the Chaohu subsidiary of Nanjing Yunhai Special Metals Co. in exploiting new material technology and producing light-weight automotive parts, according to the contract they signed.
Song Guoquan, Hefei’s Party chief, attended the signing ceremony.
Headquartered in Beijing, the company registered 406.1 billion yuan (US$60.6 billion) in sales revenue in 2016.
