The annual Pujiang Innovation Forum was held in Shanghai from September 22 to 25, attracting 100 officials, scholars and entrepreneurs from nearly 20 countries and regions.
The forum was themed "Global Science and Technology Innovation Hubs: Patterns and Prospects."
For the first time the forum honored a province — Anhui — and a municipality — Beijing — at the same time.
At the opening ceremony, Anhui introduced the remarkable achievements in sci-tech innovation to the distinguished guests from home and abroad. The innovation capacity of Anhui ranked 1st in Central China and the main indicators of innovation were on top ranking list.
In the first half of this year, Anhui's hi-tech sector contributed 65 percent to the growth of industry.
Morten Brandtoft, Executive Director and Commercial Officer of Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai and Head of Innovation Centre Denmark, Shanghai, said "the construction of several China's sci-tech centers attracts our attention and we expect to cooperate with Anhui's innovation centers and institutions."
