Wanfo Lake Scenic Zone in Shucheng County, East China's Anhui Province has been recognized as a national 5A, the highest-rated attraction in the country.

The lake changed its name from Longhekou Reservoir to Wanfo, named after Wanfo Mountain, where the source of the lake is. There are 66 isles in it and a huge rock on the bank, reminding people of many buddhas worshipping Guanyin (Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara). That's also behind the change of its name to Wanfo, literally meaning 10,000 Buddhas.

The zone covers 135 square kilometers, with the area of the lake reaching 50 square kilometers. It is part of the Dabie Mountain National Geological Park and one of China's first "National Water Resorts".

The province is now home to 11 5A tourist spots, including Huangshan Mountain and Xidi & Hongcun Villages.
