Jiuhuashan Airport's flight calibration test will officially start from February 1 and lasts about 5 days, local officials said.
Jiuhuashan Airport, which began construction in August 2009, has been basically completed by the end of December 2012. "As long as there is no heavy fog, haze or other uncontrollable factors, 5-day test will start on February 1, and if it goes smoothly, the airport will take the time to launch trial flights to ensure its opening before this May Day", said Wu Fei, director of Jiuhuashan Airport construction headquarters.
It is introduced that after the opening, flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai will be opened first, and international flights to Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia are to be opened gradually, probably through the form of chartered flights. And the passenger throughput per year of the airport is expected to reach 500,000.
