Hefei Summer Garden Party for Lotus Blossom Watching kicks off tomorrow. From July 14th to August 25th, visitors can enjoy the tremendous sight of lotus blossoms and water lilies. New varieties will show up this year including large floating-leaved plants like Gordon Fruit and Victoria Amazonica.
Workers at Hefei Botanical Garden said that cold-resistant water lilies in Water Garden have been in full bloom while tropical varieties flower just in time. Victoria Amazonica, Gordon Fruit, Lythrum salicaria, Pontederia, Rhizoma Alismatis, Thalia and Striped giant reed are newcomers in Water Garden.
According to the workers, 6:00am to 9:00am is the best period for watching lotus blossoms and water lilies. Scenes might be of extra fun if it is cloudy or drizzles. Picture taking is welcomed in the Garden.
