The 9th leg of the Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair is set to be held in Hefei, capital city of Anhui province, from March 23 to 25, local government officials said at a news conference on Wednesday.
A 400-member group headed by Fernando Chui Sai On, chief executive of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), will attend the event.
At the fair, locals will be able to buy a kaleidoscope of Macao's specialities at tax-free prices, such as Portuguese wine, coffee, almond cakes and branded clothes. Some of them are expected to be roughly 30 percent cheaper than those sold in Macao.
More than 100 well-known Macao-based firms are expected to attend the fair, sources said.
A package of deals will be signed at the opening ceremony of the fair, including an agreement on cooperation in tourism between Anhui and Macao. According to the pact, two streets will be built in Binhu District of Hefei and Suzhou, one designed to feature Macao's cultural industries and the other offering a glimpse of Macao's food and entertainment.
