According to the sources from National Development and Reform Commission, after two years prophase preparation, the project of Anqing-Nanjing railway has been authorized by National Development and Reform Commission and is planned to kick off this year.

The railway starts from Nanjing City and ends in Anqing City, passing by the cities of Maanshan, Wuhu, Tongling and Chizhou. It is 250km long among which 221km is inside Anhui Province. The estimated investment of the railway will reach 14.3b RMB.
