Jieshou, a county-level city in Fuyang, Anhui province, has recently inaugurated a sci-tech innovation center in Shanghai. It is the province ‘s first sci-tech innovation facility located out of it.
The move came after seven cities including Fuyang were approved to join the economic coordination network of the Yangtze River Delta region in October.
The center will strengthen cooperation with the region and share the region’s high-quality sci-tech resources.
Covering an area of 1,578 kilometers, the center stands opposite the prestigious Fudan University in Yangpu district.
Jieshou has stepped up efforts to develop high-tech industries in recent years. There are 76 high-tech enterprises and nearly 60 sci-tech platforms above the provincial level across the city. Some 100 local companies have gone into partnership with more than 60 Chinese prestigious universities such as Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Donghua University.
The Yangtze River Delta region consists of the municipality of Shanghai and Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. Under a new plan on its integrated development, the region will be built into a vital driving force of the nation's development by 2035.
