China Railway (Shanghai) Group Co. has added a pair of train services, coded K5661/2, from Fuyang to Wuhu, Anhui province, as college students are beginning their winter holiday trips.
The train services, the provinces’ first temporary passenger trains for the Spring Festival travel rush, are operated between January 6 and 16.
The upcoming Spring Festival travel rush, or chunyun in Chinese, will kick off on January 10 and end on February 18.
About 440 million trips are expected to be made by rail during the 40-day travel rush, up 8 percent year-on-year, according to rail authorities.
