The Anhui delegation to the third session of the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC) held a panel discussion on May 23 to deliberate on the annual government work report delivered by Chinese premier Li Keqiang. They also reviewed the draft plan on national economic and social development for 2020 and draft budgets for 2020. Li Jinbin, Party chief of Anhui province and head of the delegation, attended the panel discussion, together with deputy heads - Li Guoying, Deng Xiangyang, Liu Hui, Shen Suli, Xie Guangxiang and Wang Cuifeng. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the government work report sums up achievements objectively and concisely, deals with issues well, and maps out plans scientifically and pragmatically, the delegation agreed. Under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, China maintained sustained and healthy economic and social growth amid the complicated situation of rising risks and challenges at home and abroad during the past year, the deputies said. The draft plan on national economic and social development for 2020 and draft budgets for 2020, which make more detailed and specific arrangements for this year’s reform, development and fiscal work, will be conducive to ensuring stability in employment, financial operations, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment and expectations, and ensuring security in job, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy security, stable industrial and supply chains and the normal functioning of primary-level governments, according to the deputies.
