A team of medical experts sent by the Red Cross Society of China to Iran returned on March 26 after accomplishing their missions. Among them were two doctors from East China’s Anhui province. Wang Dongsheng and Li Ming, doctors at the First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), also known as the Anhui Provincial Hospital, arrived in Hefei, capital of the province, on the morning of March 27. The Chinese experts were sent to Teheran, capital of Iran, on March 14 to help the Middle Eastern country fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. During their stay in Iran, the two experts from Anhui shared the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC’s therapy with their Iranian counterparts. Khomeini Hospital has carried out clinical research on the therapy, with encouraging progress in more than 50 cases. The team consisted of experts from the Red Cross Society of China Shanghai Branch, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government and the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC.
