Celebration activity held for foreigners living in Hefei

To celebrate the 73rd Anniversary of the Founding of The People’s Republic of China, on September 28, the Foreign Affairs Office of Anhui Provincial People’s Government held an activity of "Celebrating the 73rd Anniversary of the Founding of The People’s Republic of China" for foreigners living in Hefei at Anhui Art Museum. Foreigners from 17 countries, such as Britain, France, Germany, Canada, the United States, Pakistan, Cameroon, Japan, Tunisia and Indiagot-together to experience the traditional Chinese culture and feel the profound history of Anhui.

The Foreign Affairs Office of Anhui Provincial People’s Government organized this event, activities including visiting Anhui Art Museum special exhibition halls, watching videos about Anhui Province, having an outdoor tea party, inviting calligraphers, folk music artists and various other artists to perform on the spot. Colorful art and craft works let foreign friends linger; Calligraphy master demonstrated excellent works; Tea art performances showed traditional tea culture; Foreign friends were fascinated by Egg carving craftsmanship. The abundant activities have demonstrated to the foreign friends the splendid culture of Anhui province, the spirit of innovation in Anhui and the Reform and Opening-up achievements in Anhui.

The foreign participants, who came from different fields such as science and technology, education, commerce and trade, spoke highly of the event. Kong Yilong from Chile said that he saw Chinese culture and history here and appreciated Anhui artists' exquisite art works and handicrafts. Anthony from South Korea said excitedly: “This activity makes it easier for us foreigners to understand China and Anhui and feel the progress and development of Anhui. In Anhui, we are treated the same as Chinese people at work and in life, whether it is going out for shopping or nucleic acid testing. This is a great feeling.” Donald Rogers, who’s from Canada, said the event was unforgettable. It was a feast of art. “I have lived in China for 15 years and witnessed the country's growing prosperity. Anhui has developed strongly in recent years. I am very happy to live in Anhui.”
