Anhui ranks second in China in terms of crayfish yield

Anhui province ranked second in China with an annual output of 349,800 tonnes of crayfish, following Hubei province, according to a report recently released by the National Fisheries Technology Extension Center and China Society of Fisheries.

The output value of China’s crayfish industry totaled 411 billion yuan in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 19.28 percent, the report said.

The yield of crayfish in the country reached 2.09 million tonnes, up 27.52 percent from a year ago.

There are more than 160 branded crayfish restaurants in Hefei, with annual consumption of 8,500 tons of crayfish. (By Li Renjian)
