2019 was a fruitful year for industrial enterprises in East China’s Anhui province, local authorities said. The Department of Economy and Information Technology of Anhui Province held a work conference on Tuesday to look back on the past year and decide on priorities in the new year of 2020. The province was home to 19 national outstanding small- and medium-sized companies in 2019, ranking first in the country. It also led the country in digital transformation of industry, Niu Nutao, head of the department, said at the meeting. Meanwhile, the province received 302 million yuan of national funds as subsidies on small and micro enterprises’ loan guarantee. The funds were larger than any other province's. 2019 saw remarkable progress in the province’s four industrial projects. Dynamic random access memory chips went into mass production. China’s first G8.5 ultra-thin float glass and the world’s largest-power photovoltaic inverter were made in the province. In addition, Anhui Conch Group Co.and Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Co.entered the Fortune Global 500 list for the first time. Industrial firms with annual turnover over 20 million yuan posted a year-on-year increase of 7.3 percent in value-added output between January and November. The growth brought Anhui to the ninth place in the country. The province also ranked ninth in High-quality Manufacturing Development Index.
