Mutual investment among Shanghai and Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces has risen since the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta was elevated to a national strategy a year ago.

In the first three quarters of 2019, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang poured 460.3 billion yuan ($65.8 billion) into 2,455 projects in Anhui, each worth a minimum of 100 million yuan. The investments, or 49.8 percent of the provincial total, increased 11.1 percent year-on-year. Among them, 1,571 projects were newly launched, with nearly 315.4 billion yuan in place, up 32.4 percent year-on-year.

Jiangsu was the biggest investor in Anhui between January and September, followed by Zhejiang, Guangdong and Shanghai. Beijing, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Hebei and Hunan also made the top ten.

Those municipalities and provinces invested 844.1 billion yuan in Anhui during the first three quarters, up 6.3 percent from the same period a year ago. Their investments accounted for 91.4 percent of the provincial total.
