An industrial innovation league has recently been launched to drive the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
Initiated in Putuo district, Shanghai, the league also consists of Nantong, Yancheng and Lianyungang in Jiangsu Province, Zhoushan and Taizhou in Zhejiang Province, and Huaibei and Tongling in Anhui Province.
The league was created at the Forum on Innovation in Yangtze River Delta, held at the Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing in Putuo on November 17.
More than 600 delegates of municipal governments and companies from the region attended the meeting with the aim of promoting the communication between corporations and governments, integrating industries with capital, and serving the national strategy of integrated development of the region.
An equity investment fund worth 10 billion yuan ($1.44 billion) was established at the forum. It will focus on the acquisition and reorganization of leading companies in the region.
In addition, a think-tank league for industrial innovation was created to conduct academic research, collaborate on projects, exchange information and organize forums.
