Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui
Province, has seen 11 more lines for China-Europe freight train
operations this year, bringing the total number of China-Europe cargo
transport railway lines of the city to 31. Yekaterinburg
in Russia, Tilburg in the Netherlands and Kiev in Ukraine are among the
new destinations, according to the Hefei International Land Port
Development Co., Ltd. On Thursday
morning, a train carrying 280 tonnes of home appliances and
anti-epidemic materials left for Duisburg, Germany, which brought the
number of Hefei-departed China-Europe cargo trains to a record high of
500 this year. More and more local
products, including automobile and refrigerators, are loaded on trains
and delivered to Europe, said Chen Feng, deputy general manager of the
company. China-Europe cargo train
services were inaugurated in Hefei in 2014, which have covered 10
countries. This year, more than 1,800 tonnes of anti-epidemic materials
were transported by trains from Hefei to Europe, according to the
