Retail sales of consumer goods in East China’s Anhui province reached 1.31 trillion yuan in the first three quarters this year, down 0.5 percent year on year, statistics from the Department of Commerce showed.
Retail sales in urban areas of the province declined 0.8 percent to 1.06 trillion yuan in the Jan-Sept period, compared with a 3.9 percent decrease in the first half of the year, while retail sales in the rural areas edged up 0.8 percent to 250.86 billion yuan, 2.8 percentage points higher than the volume in the first half of the year, according to the department.
During the third quarter, urban retail sales rose 5.3 percent, while rural retail sales increased 6.1 percent. The growth rates were 0.4 percentage point higher than those in the second quarter.
Online retail sales stood at 47.52 billion yuan, up 28.7 percent year on year.
