The annual agricultural fair in Hefei, capital of east China’s Anhui province, ended on Sunday with business deals worth 2.97 billion yuan (US$443.42 million) signed over the past three days. The event attracted more than 6,000 participants from within and out of the province, including over 4,000 agricultural companies, co-ops and family farms, nearly 1,000 purchasing agents and e-commerce dealers, and 18 officials from foreign embassies and consulates in China. More than 90,000 people visited the Binhu International Conference & Exhibition Center where the fair was staged between October 16 and 18. The venue, covering a total area of 100,000 square meters, showcased over 26,000 types of agricultural products from across the country. The fair recorded almost 100 million yuan in on-the-spot sales. In addition, 2,389 business deals worth 2.97 billion yuan were clinched, while 61.2-billion-yuan contracts were signed on 115 programs. This year's fair highlighted the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region, inviting more than 100 agricultural firms from Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The event has been held for 12 consecutive years.
