Vice mayors of 16 cities in East China’s Anhui province promoted local agricultural products on Thursday, a day before the province’s annual agricultural fair opens. A variety of local specialties were introduced at the event, including crayfish, spotted catfish and pumpkins from Hefei, capital of the province, Fuliji roast chicken from Suzhou, cordyceps militaris and bamboo fungi from Fuyang, and tea from Xuancheng. The event aimed to raise brand awareness of agricultural products. Agricultural enterprises have created 116 national famous brands, accounting for 36 percent of the provincial total. Xuan paper, Lu’an Guapian tea, Huoshan Huangya tea, Huoshan dendrobe and Shucheng Xiaolanhua tea ranked among the top 100 regional brands of geographical indication products in China in 2019. The agricultural fair is slated to be held in Hefei, capital of the province, from October 16 to 18.
