The Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) has allocated the third batch of disaster-relief supplies like fold-up beds and blankets to East China’s Anhui province, the Department of Emergency Management of Anhui said on Thursday.
The province has been battered by heavy rainfalls since July 2. As of July 23, some 7.23 million residents and 856,300 hectares of crops were affected by floods, with the direct economic loss at 29.37 billion yuan ($4.19 billion).
The MEM sent the first and second batches of 32,000 beds and blankets to Anhui on July 9 and July 17, followed by the third batch of 55,000 ones.
The relief supplies will be transported directly to the flood-hit areas and used for the relocation and resettlement of affected residents, according to the department.
