Anhui’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 8.02 percent year-on-year in 2018, local authorities said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Industrial value-added output rose 9.3 percent from a year earlier, the fastest growth in the past four years. The increase brought the province to the fourth spot in China.
The service sector made up 45.1 percent of the GDP, compared to 42.9 percent in 2017.
Fixed-asset investment increased 11.8 percent last year, up from 11 percent a year earlier and higher than the national average of 5.9 percent.
The province’s retail sales of consumer goods rose 11.6 percent, higher than the national average of 9 percent.
Foreign trade value climbed 16.6 percent, 4 percentage points higher than the national average.
Fiscal revenue rose 10.4 percent, while fiscal expenditure grew 5.9 percent.
Urban residents’ per capita disposable income increased 8.7 percent, while rural residents posted a year-on-year rise of 9.7 percent.
