Cargo throughput of Hefei Airport reaches highest level

In May, the cargo throughput of Hefei Airport reached the highest level. 167 international flights took off and the shipment volume reached 3,117.7 tons.

Since March, amid the pressure of COVID-19, the proportion of anti-epidemic exports increased gradually. The international flights in May were all chartered flights.

To increase the capacity of transporting cargo, Hefei Airport introduced foreign flights such as 10-15 flights per week to Russia operated by Royal Flight Airlines, and 5 flights per week to Shenzhen.

The passenger transport market gradually turns for better as the pandemic is waning. In April, 3,275 domestic flights took off, and 360,000 passengers were transported . In May, the number of flights increased to 5,048. Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other first-tier cities accounted for the main heat, showing continuous recovery in recent months.

Some of the increased tourists were weekenders, and some commuted to work by plane, according to the marketing department of Anhui Civil Aviation Airport Group Corporation.
